One night in March 2013, I stuffed my post-baby body into a pair of jeans that I thought made me look reasonably human, attempted makeup, ran out of time to address my hair, and threw it into a very sad, soaking wet mom bun, and left the house without my baby for the first time since he was born, nearly three months earlier.
