hey, I’m melodee.

I have been taking pictures of awesome people for 18 years now. I have photographed the beautiful, the sacred, the ordinary, and the extraordinary. An album cover, a photo book, military homecomings, last memories for those in hospice care, wedding vows, brand new babies, a 60th anniversary, happy families, couples in love, birthdays, family reunions, new homes, sad goodbyes, best friends, family vacations, memorial services, tears, and belly laughs. I have pulled all-nighters, driven over 1000 miles in one weekend, waded in an inflatable pool full of paint and glitter, been bitten by an elderly wiener dog (and one toddler), swallowed a bug, laid in a field full of rabbit poop, balanced on top of a wobbly six foot wall with all of my gear, stepped in stinging nettle (twice), evaded a rattlesnake, hiked 9 miles in the pouring rain, somehow kept all of my fingers shooting in a mountain top blizzard, photographed through tears, and laughed until I cried.

I'm the mom of two awesome adults, and one teenager that is already much taller and smarter than I am. I have been married to a man with the patience of a saint for 25 years. We share our perpetually messy home with an anxiety-ridden cat and way too many plants, that I struggle to keep alive.
